Berger Schatz partner Barry Schatz presented and led a discussion at the 77th Annual National Conference of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges held in Chicago in July 2014. The presentation, titled “Williams v. Illinois and Forensic Evidence: The Bleeding Edge of Crawford,” addressed the United States Supreme Court confrontation clause case and its wide ranging implications for family law judges and for possible revisions to Rule of Evidence 703 which deals with bases for expert opinions and the fact experts can rely on inadmissible evidence in forming an opinion.
