Aura L. Lichtenberg Selected to Chicago Lawyer 40 Under Forty List

Berger Schatz is pleased to announce Aura L. Lichtenberg has been named this year as a 40 Under Forty honoree by Chicago Lawyer.

Aura’s skill in family law is apparent to both her colleagues and those who have witnessed her abilities in court, including The Honorable Raúl Vega, presiding judge of the Domestic Violence Division for the Circuit Court of Cook County.

“She is logical and reasonable and does not fuel the fire in high-conflict matters,” he said. “She defuses the high emotion that family law cases usually bring to the court.” At the same time, Judge Vega describes her as “a formidable opponent when the need arises,” as well as, “extremely intelligent, organized, and detail oriented.”

Aura focuses her family law practice on litigation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution of divorce and post-divorce matters, parentage and support matters, premarital and postmarital agreements, and incidents involving domestic violence. She has been named an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers, a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and a One to Watch by Best Lawyers. In addition to these achievements, Aura has worked with the Cook County’s Facilitator Program, the ABA Section of Litigation Judicial Intern Opportunity Program, and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

Those that are named to the Chicago Lawyer 40 Under Forty list are distinguished by their exemplary dedication, character, and skill in their practice. Over the past 21 years, Chicago Lawyer has selected the best young attorneys in Illinois, and this year the pool contained more than 1,500 attorney nominations from across Illinois.
