Sharon’s practice is dedicated to compassionately counseling clients in all areas of family law, with a focus on complex financial litigation, tracing of assets and income, valuation of business interests, and custody disputes.
Areas of Focus
Sharon has significant experience in both the litigation of, and the use of alternative dispute resolution, in divorce and post-divorce matters. Sharon’s steadfast goal, prior to engaging in contested litigation, is to exhaust all possible efforts to negotiate, mediate, or otherwise amicably resolve each and every family law conflict in which she is involved.
Sharon is well known in the field for her skills of drafting and negotiating pre-marital and post-marital agreements.
Most recently, as co-chairperson for the firm’s growing Family Building Practice, Sharon has been increasingly representing clients with assisted reproduction needs, including adoption, egg/sperm donation contracts, gestational surrogacy contracts, and contracts governing the disposition of embryos.
Approach
Sharon’s amicable, yet tough, problem-solving approach to her practice is rooted in her past professional experience. Prior to attending law school, Sharon spent several years as a Master’s level social worker in Chicago, working with children and their families in school and community settings, as well as in the Juvenile Court System. Her experience counseling families and individuals in crisis, navigating various systems and policies, and working to amicably resolve conflicts of all types, laid the foundation for her career in family law.
