Katya Fuentes has substantial experience representing a variety of clients in all aspects of divorce litigation including: valuation and disposition of substantial assets and business interests, maintenance, child support, and allocation of parental responsibilities.
Katya has guided clients through many divorce and family law issues involving legal separation, removal, and support.
Prior to joining Berger Schatz, Katya Fuentes was Partner at Chicago family law practice, Stein & Stein, Ltd. She also worked for the Family Law Clinic at the Law Offices of IIIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. While in law school, Katya served as Judicial Extern in the Cook County Domestic Relations Division and was a member of the highly regarded and nationally ranked Chicago-Kent Trial Advocacy Team.
Katya was a contributor to the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Family Law Practice Handbook. She has also taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor and volunteered as a coach for the Trial Advocacy Team at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Katya Fuentes has been named “Emerging Lawyer” by Law Bulletin Media since 2015. This distinction has been earned by fewer than two percent of all lawyers licensed to practice law in Illinois.
