At the Lake County Bar Association’s Family Law Legislative Update in November 2015, Berger Schatz Partner Craig Mandell presented on the subject “It’s Only Temporary: Interim Relief Under the New 750 ILCS 5/501.” Craig’s presentation discussed how the legislative revisions to the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act, which became effective January 1, 2016, impacted critical areas of pre-trial motion practice such as temporary maintenance and interim attorney’s fees, use of the marital residence, and petitions for injunctions and temporary restraining orders.
